Positive and Negative Numbers

Change positive numbers to negative with Paste Special function in Excel.

1. Type -1 in a blank cell and copy it.

2. Highlight the range that you want to change, then right-click and choose Paste Special from the menu to open the Paste Special dialog box.

3. Select All option from the Paste, and Multiply from the Operation.

4. Click OK. All of the positive numbers have been changed to negative numbers and the -1 may be deleted.

Change Negative numbers to positive

1. Highlight range you want changed from a negative number to positive.

2. Click — Ctrl F to open the find option and click on the Replace tab.

3. On the Find what line type in -.

4. Leave Replace with blank.

5. Click on Replace All, the negative numbers are now changed to positive.
